“The Lovers of the Year of the Tiger”(Kochankowie Roku Tygrysa), is a song, with beautiful words about the art of love making, which starts with trust, freely giving themselves to each other. Farther she sings about slowly moving to the above, and from there being carried away by the feeling from gentle touch entering on the ocean wave very slow to the heart of the universe and moving with its music rhythm, to the bliss in which the life was and is born.
A tantra where two souls of two lovers from two distant nations, dance in the above entering into the unknown, and becoming united as one.
Written by singer Kayah and sung by her for the film “The Lovers of the Year of the Tiger” directed by Jacek Bromski. Kayah, a popular music composer, writer and singer from Warsaw, Poland of whom I think of as an ambassador for peace, cherishes cultural differences, as well as educates and unites people through art of creative music with multi languages, familiarizing nations with the beauty of different cultures.
The first time I saw Kayah’s live performing concert was at the Cross Culture Festival in Warsaw in September 2015. Her concert was fantastic. She sang in Hebrew, songs from her album Transoriental Orchestra, Kondja Mia, Ajde Jano, Rebeka, she seng in Portuguese, Arabic, English and in Polish one of them is “Muszlo Moja”. I was moved by Kayah’s performance which was very dynamic, and loved by the entire audience.
In March 2017, I met Kayah spontaneously in Warsaw. We visited for many hours at a Tapas Spanish restaurant and had a good time and interesting conversation. Kayah, a world music star, is a fun and very creative artist and I have since ben an ardent fan attending her concerts.
“The Lovers of the Year of the Tiger” film is a Chinese-Polish co-production with Michał Żebrowski as Wolski and Li Min as Song.
In 2007, Film director Jacek Bromski during the Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles, told me that this is a new phenomenon to Poland co-producing with other nations.
Unfortunately I learned from a Chinese friend that this film is censored in China and cannot be screened there. My friend however acknowledged that Kayah’s rendition in Chinese of “The Lovers In The Year of the Tiger” is excellent.
The song below performed by Kayah is from the original sound track, The Lovers of the Year of Tiger.
