It is no secret that President Donald Trump has targeted the Diversity Visa Lottery known popularly as DV lottery for elimination as he curtails or seeks to end legal immigration from certain parts of the world. Also known as the green card lottery, it is however still being issued and the results for the fiscal year 2021 program are in. Having been delayed due to the corona virus, many applicants were left wondering their fate. Up to 55,000 foreign nationals and their families from around the world now have the chance to enjoy the American dream by following the procedures set forth.
The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, winners are selected randomly by a computer from qualified entries and the selection results for the DV-2021 lottery be found at the Entrant Status Check of the State Department ‘s website. Applicants can verify using the confirmation number issued upon completion of the application process. Results will be available until September 30,2021 according to the official instructions for the 2021 Diversity Visa Program. Note that per the State Department’s instructions no notices are being sent out this year and this is the only way you can find out if you won.
Here is how to find your results:
- Have the correct format of your names in the order in which you applied
- Be sure to also have the year of your birth accurately with all 4 digits e.g. 1972
- confirmation number also known as a code that was issued to you when you registered or applied.
- Last but not least you must have the authentication code indicated by the system
