The first COVID-19 testing site in District 9 is up and running at Kedren Health on Avalon Boulevard. One thing is for certain, testing is detrimental to us flattening the curve of the coronavirus and the need for more testing centers is paramount.
With 26 locations active throughout LA County, only two locations offer walk-up services to cater to individuals that do not have cars, including the one we opened this morning. I want you to know that my Office is working collaboratively with City departments to identify additional sites in the near future, including drive-thru testing locations.
Please remember that while the City is providing FREE COVID-19 testing to Los Angeles County residents, you must register at coronavirus.lacity.org/testing to begin the appointment process.
The coronavirus is blind to everyone, no matter the walk of life of a person, no matter the color, young, old, rich or poor. Unfortunately, recent data has shown that COVID-19 is significantly impacting communities of color, which is why having this location in our neighborhood is so important.
