One World & One People
The Immigrant Experience, Culture
Saturday June 24th, 2017, The Los Angeles Culture Festival™ (LACF) and Hollywood Carnival presented the Annual Los Angeles Culture Festival™ featuring colorful costumes, dances, food, arts & crafts, and music from around the world. As always Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into a parade of colors and festivities, vendors and spectators who annually make this a summer pilgrimage. Chairman, Dr. Harold Ganga characterizes this colorful and exotic display as expressing the colors of culture and freedom of the world as one people. “This is a celebration of our cultures and traditions”.
Pounding the pavements of Hollywood Boulevard parade goers were treated to exotic rhythms from around the world including the likes of Calypso, Soca, Samba, Reggae, Zouke, Latin, Punta, Meringue, Mariachi, Reggaeton, Blues, Jazz, Steel-pan, Indian, Asian, African, Middle Eastern and much more.
Culminating at the Carnival Cultural Village festivities continued around the Grand Sound Stage where thousands danced and were treated to great music, a liquor garden, an International Food Court, Arts & Crafts etc. It certainly was a true expression of immigrants and Americans celebrating one another as “One World & One People”.
