This year, our fellow Chinese immigrant communities will be celebrating the Chinese New Year – The Year of the Rooster, which will be celebrated for a two-week period stretches from Saturday January 28 to February 15th, 2017.

Known as the Spring Festival, it is marked by the lunisolar Chinese calendar, and so changes from year to year. The festivities usually start the day before the New Year and continue until the Lantern Festival.

This year some of the largest crowds will gather for festivities in China with millions of people celebrating with families what is considered the most important holiday in the Chinese calendar.

Happy Chinese New Year!
