The Polish American Film Society Celebrates 15th Annual Polish Film Festival Los AngelesThe Polish American Film Society is proud to announce the 15th Annual Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles (October 7 – 16, 2014) celebrating the greatest achievements of Polish filmmakers.

The festival will open with SOPHIE SEEKS 7 [Facet (nie)potrzebny od zaraz] by Weronika Migon, Audience Award at Koszalin’s Debuts Film Festival “Mlodzi i Film,” on October 7, 2014 with a star-studded gala during which both Polish and American moviemakers will walk the red carpet at Hollywood’s legendary Egyptian Theatre, an extravagant start to a ten-day-long celebration of Polish Cinema through October 16, 2014 with subsequent  screenings at the Laemmle’s NoHo 7 and Royal Theaters.

In attendance we be special guests: Emmanuelle Seigner, Krzysztof Zanussi, Dawid Ogrodnik, Artur Zmijewski and Antoni Pawlicki.

For the fifteenth  time The Polish Film Festival  will present the most recent achievements of Polish cinema, including: BIG LOVE by Barbara Bialowas, GABRIEL by Mikolaj Haremski, IDA by Pawel Pawliowski, LIFE FEELS GOOD (Chce sie zyc) by Maciej Pieprzyca, LASTING (Nieulotne) by Jacek Borcuch, TO KILL A BEAVER (Zabic bobra) by Jan Jakub Kolski, ONE WAY TICKET TO THE MOON (Bilet na ksiezyc) by Jacek Bromski, PAPUSZA by Joanna Kos-Krauze & Krzysztof Krauze, VIVA BELARUS (Zywie Bielarus) by Krzysztof Lukaszewicz, WALESA. MAN OF HOPE (Walesa czlowiek z nadziei) by Andrzej Wajda, THE WORD (Obietnica) by Anna Kazejak, YOU ARE GOD (Jestes Bogiem) by Leszek Dawid and a series of short films, documentaries and animations.

In the segment of movies made abroad by Polish filmmakers, with Polish talent, or with Polish subject, the following will be presented : BUNNY by Annika Glac, FIGHTER’S ROOM by Slav Zatoka, AN ARTIST AND A SON & AWAKEN by BALBINKA KORZENIOWSKA, A LITTLE POLAND IN INDIA by Anu Radha, ENTANGLEMENT by Douglas Wood, SAPPHIRE by Ryan Cross, RED, BLUE, AND PURPLE by Janek Ambros, CHESTER by Elzbieta Szoka, PEOPLE ON THE BRIDGE by Beata Pozniak and VENUS IN FUR by Roman Polanski.

 

Panel of jurors from Hollywood, including Tony Anselmo, Tom Bower, Sondra Currie-Levi, Steven Nicolaides, Donna Walker, Henryk Cymerman, Maria Elena de Las Carreras, Scott Hamilton Kennedy, Cinzia Angelini, Daniel Birczynski, A.J. Briones, Hubert J. Daniel Douglas Wood, Ziggy Kozlowski, Bijan Tehrani, Rache O’Mara and Drew Denny  will pick winners in feature, documentary, short film and animation category. Emmanuelle Seigner will receive the Pola Negri Award for her collaboration with Polish Directors:
Jerzy Skolimowski in ESSENTIAL KILLINGS and Roman Polanski in VENUS IN FUR at the 15th Annual Polish Film Festival Los Angeles celebrating  its jubilee on October 7th  at Red Carpet Gala Opening at the Egyptian Theatre.

On October 10, 2014 at 9PM  VENUS IN FUR by Roman Polanski will be screened at Lammle’s NoHo 7 Theatre, followed by Q & A with Emmanuelle Seigner conducted by F. X. Feeney.
