Maria Amor Torres has taken the worlds of dance, beauty and fitness to new heights. The consummate professional entrepreneur and creative titan, who lives to inspire others by taking decisive action. Maria says, “I’m a doer, not a talker. What is paramount to me is executing my vision, living my dreams with passion, and to being the designer of my destiny.”
The 1st Annual Ms. Exoti-Lady World Pageant 2011 was a huge success. Maria created it as a personal and social development opportunity for women 35 years of age and older, of diverse nationalities. This star-studded formal gala and party took place at the Universal Hilton in Universal City California and raised funds for the benefit of Exotifit for Humanity, which promotes health, fitness, wellness, beauty and the arts to underprivileged women and children as well as the disabled.
According to Maria, “I created Exotifit to revolutionize Fitness the practical, effective and entertaining way. Its based on several dance styles and fused with raw energy, rhythm and sensuality.” The validation is apparent in the success of her Exoti-Angels, Ladies and Goddesses. Each group is hand picked and taught by Maria and they perform in and around the City of Angels.
Watching Maria dance is a thing of beauty. Her movements, so precise and feminine as her eyes light up the stage. Her hands dance like Hummingbirds as her body movements exude a grace and sensuality all her own. Maria’s leadership and inspiration bring out the best in everyone. She is at once, a dancer, leader, motivator, choreographer and director. Maria is one of those creative visionaries with the personality, character, wisdom and motivation to help her students achieve their optimal performance.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Ms. Torres is a rare dichotomy of beauty and business. At the early age of 19 years, with a business and arts background, she established MLCT Oriental Furniture. She later branched out to the manufacture of handicrafts out of indigenous and recycled materials. Having gained confidence from supplying small companies she then ventured into supplying larger corporations like the National Bookstore, Duty Free Philippines and SM Department Store, to name a few.
Maria the philanthropist. In 2003, she founded Katawang Pinoy Foundation with the aim of uplifting the lives of body builders, aerobics instructors and other related fields of endeavor. And in 2011, she founded the non-profit Exotifit For Humanities. Maria is an AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) Certified Aerobics Instructor, DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association) Certified Ballroom Dance Instructor, and Paint Artist. Everything she touches turns to gold.
I have come to admire her skill at combining a focused entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen with a warmth of soul that undeniably leads people to love and desire to be a part of the world of Maria Amor Torres and Exotifit. Maria says, “Our mission is to promote Health, Fitness and Sexiness the Exotifit way.” Maria Amor Torres, Founder & President of Exotifit For Humanity, Exotifit International, Inc. and MLT Enterprises.
