Herb J. Wesson, Jr. served as the first African American President of the Los Angeles City Council in the city’s history from November 2011 through 2019 and has represented Council District 10 since 2005. An advocate for social justice, protecting the rights of local immigrant families, his mission has always been to make Los Angeles a better place to live, work and raise a family.
