Los Angeles, CA June 5, 2017 Actor/comedian/writer/director Demetri Martin (“Dean,” “Finding Woodstock”) will take center stage at the Egyptian Theatre Sunday evening July 11 to host the 11th Annual Los Angeles Greek Film Festival. The awards are the closing night highlight to the five-day festival of films, panels and events honoring the best of the fest.
Opening the Awards is Los Angeles based comedy troupe WET THE HIPPO who will perform for the 500 seat sold out crowd.
Joining Martin on stage are the LAGFF heads and founders and nine-member Jury who will award the Orpheus to the Best Performance, Feature Narrative, Documentary and Short Films. In addition, the audience votes will have been tabulated and the one film that garners the most votes will be given the Audience Award.
Paramount Chairman/CEO Jim Gianopulos will take the podium to present Oscar-winning writer/producer/director Alexander Payne with the 2017 Honorary Orpheus Award.
Demetri Martins’ new film “Dean” was just released this past weekend, June 2, and is currently in theatres.
