LOS ANGELES, CA — The Ankara Festival Los Angeles (AFLA) proudly announces the return of The 17th Annual African Fashion and Music Festival, taking place over Labor Day Weekend, September 4–6, 2026. Uniting fashion, music, culture, wellness, dance, comedy, and cuisine, this year’s festival centers on the powerful theme “Fashion Beyond Borders,” celebrating the global impact and cross-cultural resonance of African creative arts.

Hosted by acclaimed actor Duain Richmond (Fela! on Broadway), the three-day festival packs six signature events designed to immerse attendees in an authentic, high-energy celebration of African heritage and contemporary global culture.

  • Afrobeats & Pilates: A high-energy morning wellness session blending core fitness with vibrant Afrobeats rhythms.
  • The Market Square: An immersive day market featuring African food vendors, artisans, craft merchants, interactive dance, comedy, and cultural showcases.
  • East Africa Meets West Africa Soiree: An exclusive evening evening party bridging regional sounds, flavors, and creative talents in a celebratory cross-continental mixer.

  • The Headline Fashion Runway & Afrobeat Concert: The festival culminates in a grand finale featuring runway showcases from premier international designers representing Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and beyond. Following the runway presentation, Afrobeats Legend Jaywon headlines a massive live concert, supported by performances from Nella (Cameroon), Mr Best (Sierra Leone), Echezona, Fode Sissoko, and Yahno Tee.
