In the hopeful message, Gomez recounted her own family’s immigrant experience and how their sacrifices paved the way for her life and career.
“Regardless of where your family is from, regardless of your immigration status, you have taken action to earn an education, to make your families proud, and to open up your worlds,” said Gomez in her message.
