The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles is opening its Waiting List to receive applications for Section 8- a rental assistance program that helps very low-income individuals and their families afford safe and decent housing.
After all applications are received and the open period closes, a lottery will be conducted to select applicants to be placed on the Waiting List. Applications for the Section 8 Waiting List lottery must be submitted online only at hacla.hcvlist.org and will not be available in paper form.
If you require in-person assistance, local organizations in South Los Angeles like All Peoples Community & FamilySource Center are able to help. You can also visit the Ascot Branch Library and Junipero Serra Library in Council District 9. For more information on where to get help in the Ninth District, call the Office of Councilman Curren Price at (323) 846-2651.
