The actress and Indian film star -- she has appeared in films produced by four of the top film centers in India -- has been banished from appearing in films for the next three years by the Karnataka Film Producer's Association due to allegedly disrupting the “domestic harmony of a fellow actor.”
The second black African to win the award in the history of the Miss Universe pageant, Mis Lopes is also the second Angolan to make the top 10. Proudly wearing the crown she pledged herself in an ambassadorial capacity as she stated: “I have to do everything that my country needs,I think now as Miss Universe I will be able to do much more.”
Part of the event is a Global Awards Ceremony honoring noted individuals for their outstanding contributions to international business, philanthropy and entertainment. Larry Namer will receive the “Aaron Spelling Award” for his pioneering work in the areas of television, domestically and globally.

The first of its kind happening on the West Coast, 24 teams will be representing 20 countries as follows: Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Mauritania, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Kenya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Copper Bullets of Zambia, Salem of Eritrea, Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, Camsola of Cameroon, Lions of the Teranga from Senegal, Uganda, Ethiopia as well as a Jamaican team representing the Caribbean community out here on the West coast.

Pepe Urquijo was moving up to Northern California to expose injustices through film, while Oscar Gomez was already an established radio activist based out of the University of California, Davis.
