Magazine, The Immigrant Experience
Tifu and Behleu Fomukong born of African immigrant parents have been dominant in tennis on the West Coast of the US. When we think of Cameroon in sports, what comes to mind is mostly soccer because of famous soccer players of Cameronian origin today like Etienne Mbappe and Eto Fils. What may come to mind thereafter may be basketball because of Joel Embiid and Pascal Siakam in the NBA.
It has been a while since we heard of Cameroonians and tennis especially after it has been so long since Cameroonian French immigrants Yannick Noah won the Tennis championship and Oyebog made an impact in global tennis.
Something massive is however brewing in Tennis with the eleven-year-old Fomukong twins in the USA. After a few years in the game, these fraternal twin brothers are demonstrating once more that the story of Yannick Noah will not be the last about Cameroonian people and Tennis.
The Immigrant Magazine editorial team is proud to present these future Tennis Champs to you.
