SPORTS 500-800 Words
In the last few years there has been a growing number of immigrants participating in various college and professional sports activities in the United States. The sports section of the magazine seeks to underline their achievements and much more.

1. COLLEGE SPORTS
The United States is one of the few countries in the world if not the only country in the world where many scholarships are offered to college and university to students. Though football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey, take the brunt of the scholarships, other sports like track and field, soccer, gymnastics, wrestling, tennis, golf and many other sports feature prominently in many sports activities in college. In their quest for the best players, coaches and managers of these different teams have begun going further and further outside the United States to seek the best athletes. Though sports like baseball, football(American) ice hockey, and basketball are not strong in the curriculum of many countries particularly in the third world, there will be a section of the magazine that profiles college athletes from far and wide and their contribution to the sports annals of their respective colleges.

2.WOMEN IN SPORTS
The United States probably leads the world in creating sports opportunities for women. Over 30 years ago, the introduction of Title 9 helped further the cause of women in sports. In soccer, the United States boasts one of the best if not the best women's soccer team in the world, also in softball, where they have won the last two gold medals in the Olympics. US women feature very prominently in many other sports including track and field and tennis. In this section, the magazine will seek to profile women from other countries in the world both in college and professional sports. Soccer teams, tennis teams, golf teams, track and field are among the number of sports activities where a significant number of immigrants can be found.

3. PROFESSIONAL SPORTS
Apart from ice hockey, the other professional sports that feature prominently are not played with as much professionalism in many other countries in the world as in the United States. Football, which is perhaps the most popular sports in the country in not played significantly anywhere else in the world apart from Canada. In recent years there has been a league created in Europe but it does not have the same quality of players as would be found in the National Football League, nor does it appeal much to populations in Europe. Recently, basketball has become a huge attraction in South America and Europe where many professionals have also found their way into the National Basketball Association from countries in these two continents. However many countries in Africa and South America lack the infrastructure to support these sports yet there are players from these continents as well who feature prominently in professional league sports in the United States. This section will profile how these immigrants from all over the world found themselves in professional leagues and how the cope with the life of the professional sportsperson in the United States.

4. OTHER SPORTS POPULAR AROUND THE WORLD IN DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES BUT NOT THE USA. HOW IMMIGRANTS FROM THESE COMMUNITIES KEEP THE GAMES ALIVE

Recently, soccer has begun to play a big role in the lives of the sportsperson in the United States. Though the United States has participated in the soccer world cup as far back as 1954, until recently soccer has not been considered one of the big sports activities. Today, however, more kids play soccer than any other sports in the United States, furthermore, there exists soccer in many college programs, and also there is a professional soccer league in the country. It has taken many years for soccer, a sport considered to be the most popular in the world, to take roots in the United States. There are other sports, however, like rugby, handball, badminton, cricket, squash, and many other sports unknown here but popular in different countries around the world. Immigrant communities in the United States keep these sports alive in little leagues. There will be a sports section that profiles these sports in the United States and the communities that participate in them.

5. SPORTS AROUND THE WORLD
Immigrant communities are always interested in knowing what is going on in their countries of origin with regards to sports activities. In the sports section, there will be regular but brief coverage about major result of sports events and the major stories about sports activities from around the world. The focus will be on as many different sports activities from as many countries as possible.
