Film Preview-IJE -The Journey

ije-the-journeyIJE the Journey is a Nigerian film starring Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
Chineze Anyaene is the director and producer of IJE. The young Nigerian filmmaker is determined to change the face of Nollywood. For the past 15 years films have been made in Nigeria and according to sources familiar with their process, production value has taken a back seat to focus on famous actors. Anyaene is the youngest female director and first woman in Nollywood to shoot in 35mm. Along with producer Paula Moreno; they decided to make production quality a cornerstone of their project. IJE, which means “the journey” in the Nigerian language Igbo, is a grippingly sad tale of the realities of life in Nigeria and how running away to live the American dream is not without it setbacks. 

 Some of the scenes were shot on location in Jos, Nigeria.
