Joint Millennium Challenge Corporation and Department of Commerce Business Development Mission to Africa

Applications Due April 17

TIM, Making Money, News Release

The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the Department of Commerce (DOC) are now seeking applicants for the Joint MCC and DOC Energy Sector Business Development Mission to Africa.

During last year’s Africa Leaders’ Summit, MCC committed to leading its first ever trade and investment mission to Africa, and is working with Commerce to organize an energy focused mission to Tanzania (with an optional side-trip to Malawi) during the first week of June.  We are now actively recruiting companies to participate in this mission and would welcome your help in getting the word out to U.S. industry.

The overall mission is structured as a Joint Business Development Mission with the Department of Commerce to Tanzania (May 31- June 2) and a follow-on MCC-led investment mission to Malawi (June 3-5) – both focusing on opportunities for U.S. companies to invest in and around our MCC-funded investments in the energy sector.  Mission participants will range from fully integrated energy solutions companies to equipment, technology, engineering and ancillary service providers.  In addition, project developers are eligible to participate.  Costs to participate in the mission range from $3,000/person for large firms to $2,590/person for small or medium-sized enterprises (these fees do not including air travel, lodging, most meals and ground transportation).

Applications are due by Friday, April 17, 2015.   If you, or any of your industry contacts, are interested in learning more about MCC, the mission, or submitting an application, you can do so using the following links:
