SPIRIT AWAKENING FOUNDATION (SAF) presents its annual Voices of the Unheard / FREEDOM spoken word and theatrical performance fundraiser on Friday, November 8th, 2019 from 7:00 – 9:00pm at the Skirball Cultural Center. This performance fundraiser will feature spoken word and theatrical performance, as well as the writings of incarcerated and underserved children and young adults in the Los Angeles County juvenile justice system. All proceeds and donations raised from this event go towards funding the art-based programming, mentorship, career counseling, and financial aid services SAF provides for some of the most vulnerable, underserved and neglected youth in LA County.

The powerful, heart-pounding and soul-searching words written by our most vulnerable youth are performed through song, dance, poetry and storytelling. Join us at Voices of the Unheard / FREEDOM to witness multiple performances, including a special performance of an excerpt of Spirit Awakening, the critically acclaimed one-woman play written and performed by Akuyoe Graham, award-winning playwright, actor and Founder & Executive Director of Spirit Awakening Foundation.

Join us for a day of art, community and inspiration.
