The Italian American Museum of Los Angeles (IAMLA) recently unveiled a new temporary exhibition ‘St. Joseph’s Tables: Expressions of Devotion, Charity, and Abundance’ at a special pre-opening reception held on March 5, 2020. Joining IAMLA president Paul Pagnone and executive director Marianna Gatto on the evening were attorney Richard Barone, El Pueblo Monument General Manager Arturo Chavez, Fox 11’s Susan Hirasuna, attorney Gideon Kracov, Monsignor John Moretta and former El Pueblo Commission President Robert Vinson, and many other business leaders and community members.

Afro-Latinx Festival at Museum of Latin American Art

MOLAA’s Afro-Latinx Festival celebrated cultural diversity and the African influence in Latin America. Attendees were thoroughly engaged throughout the day as they learned about the various ways in which the African influence has permeated Latin America by witnessing and experiencing firsthand through music, dance, food and even martial arts.The day long program featured a mixture of customs from African and Mestizo peoples in Latin America through art workshops, face paintings, live musical performances and more.
