When It's Getting HOT Outside… Don't Forget About Your Feet!!!

As it gets warmer outside, our feet sweat and we may develop "Athlete's Foot". Athlete's Foot is a fungus that lives best in warm and moist environments, like sweaty socks and shoes or even dirty showers or towels.
We have a greater chance of getting athletes foot when we have damaged our feet, such as a blister, or if we don't allow our feet to air-out (especially at night). It is just as important to make sure that we always wear clean cotton socks and wash daily!
And remember, our feet are part of us… so the healthier we are, the healthier our feet will be.
But what if it isn't enough??? What if we get "Athlete's Foot"???

Important things to know are:
· Athlete's Foot often takes 2 to 4 weeks of treatment with an "Antifungal" medication until it goes away.
Always use an Antifungal Cream (such as Lotrimin AF or Lamasil or Micatin) twice a day, morning and evening.
· Before massaging the Antifungal Cream into your feet, wash your foot with soap & water and dry your feet with a clean, fresh towel. (Remember, Athlete's Foot fungus likes to live in warm and moist areas, including dirty towels, dirty socks and shoes that have been worn all day.)
· Use foot powder whenever your feet get sweaty.
· Change your cotton socks once a day (or more often if needed).
· Allow your feet to breath at night (don't wear socks when sleeping
· If your foot doesn't get better after 4 weeks or if it starts to get raw or bleed, call your doctor so they can help you!!!

It's up to you to keep your feet HAPPY & HEALTHY!!!
